Uniform Project 2013

Last year in Nicaragua over 500,000 children were not able to attend school.  Due to the extreme poverty in Nicaragua, purchasing the mandatory school uniform is not possible for many families.  For most Nicaraguans the cycle of poverty keeps repeating itself.  With a good education, Lord willing, one day these beautiful children will be able to rise up out of their families poverty.

In 2011 we were able to help 295 children go to school.  Last year in 2012, we were amazed to see God pour out His blessings. He supplied uniforms, shoes, backpacks and school supplies to over 400 children in need of an education. We have seen tremendous results from this project.  The children from the feeding centers are so proud to walk by in their uniforms on their way to school each morning.  At the children's center in Acahualinca, fellow missionaries John and Wilma Hall, have tutoring going full force throughout the week to help these beautiful children succeed in their studies.  This year, our immediate goal is to supply uniforms for 600 children. Our distributions will continue at the Children's Center by the dump in Managua and Bluefields.  In addition, we would like to expand the project to two new locations where we opened feeding centers in 2012. To the indigenous children in Puerto Cabezas and a very small community of only 14 families in Bella Vista which is located on the other side of the Managua city dump.  A place where unemployment is 100%, the children beg in the streets  and work at the traffic lights in order to help their families survive.

Over the next few weeks we will be raising funds to make the dream of an education a reality for so many children.  $15,000 is what it will take to get 600 children in school.  We have set up a special Uniform Project account.  If you would like to sponsor a child and help give them the education they need and deserve please click here and write "Uniform Project #14614 in the comments area.

We also need people committed to pray for these beautiful children. That God will help them in their studies. The majority of them are so far behind from not going to school for so many years or lack of personal educational attention.  We are believing God for GREAT things in the lives of these children. Please pray and believe with us that these children will rise up and be the next generation of Nicaraguan pastors, missionaries, teachers, doctors, lawyers and anything else God has created them to be.
