Survivor Nicaragua

Not too far from the filming of next season's Survivor Nicaragua, is a small remote community of which people call home. To the locals, it is called Kukrahill and it's located in the Atlantic South part of Nicaragua (the Bluefield region). Most people that need to travel there would do so by a small boat from the town of Bluefields. Unlike Bluefields, one could reach it by land if they had a 4x4 and alot of time. I had an awesome previledge to spend most of the month of February in that part of the country.

Yes, it's exciting to hear that they are starting filming Survivor Nicaragua here but that name alone means so much more to me. By getting to know the people here in Nicaragua and especially the people of Kukrahill, you can get a sense that it's more then just 39 days, it's their life. In this area, not only do they have to battle the rough elements, but they are faced with poor living conditions, very little medical attention, and horrible education. Survivel for many is just living day to day with very little purpose in life other then to just exist. But we all should know that we should not fix our eyes on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

I assisted a great friend and fellow missionary, Troy Doudy, for close to a month in touching the lives of so many in Kukrahill. Along with a couple of great teams from the west coast of the States, we were able to build a church, host special evening services, and meet the communities basic medical needs by giving everyone in that area an opportunity to be seen by doctors, nurses, and dentists. After it was said and done, thanks to Jesus, we had a new church building, salvations, healings, and an excitement/greater expectancy of a brighter tomorrow.
