Feed The Hungry

As Thanksgiving approaches, we find ourselves counting our blessings each day.  One of the many blessings in our lives is our partnership with Feed The Hungry.  Through the food donations from Feed The Hungry we are blessed to be able to provide a warm meal to just over 1,000 children daily in Nicaragua. Not only are the children blessed by the warm meal filling them up, but each local ministry site also shares the word of God and that will last with them forever.

This warm meal is provided daily to the children at the feeding centers around Nicaragua. It is rice meal full of vitamins and nutrients.

This is an example of a "family pack" that is distributed through the local church in areas where we are ministering.  It is a huge blessing to those who receive the family pack, as well as, a blessing for the local church that is able to build  relationships with new families and provide on-going ministry.
The Pastor's home in Santa Rita where Feed The Hungry blessed the locals with family packs earlier this year.  This summer we followed up with ministry in this remote river community providing evangelism outreaches for the youth and children.

Another remote community along the river in Bluefields that was blessed to receive family packs this year as well.  We are currently in the process of opening a feeding center in this local church.

Just as I was finishing up this blog, I received a call from Pulse FM Christian Radio out of South Bend, Indiana.  They were having their annual "Take Away Hunger" campaign.  They asked if I would take some time and share with the listeners about the opportunity we have to feed the hungry, with both food and the word of God here in Nicaragua.  Also, about how the resources we have been provided with has made an impact on the children's lives that we are able to minister to. The simple answer in life changing.  By providing these children with a warm meal we earn the right to be heard by not only them but their families and community as well.  This allows us and the local church the ongoing opportunity to share Christ with them.
