In April 2007, we began our journey in missions after youth pastoring in the states for 8 amazing years. Our desire in Nicaragua is to reach in and help the poor, the hungry, the hurting and the hopeless by doing children and youth outreaches, food distribution and using every other available means to share the gospel. Our greatest desire is to share the hope and love of Jesus with those who may otherwise not know.

Line 24
Well today we spent the afternoon at immigration waiting in lines. I wish you all could have been there with us just to get a small taste of how things work in a 3rd world country. The application process to receive residency here in Nicaragua starts with purchasing your application and then obtaining all the proper documentation from the states. Today we walked into the immigration office in Managua and were greeted by a worker who asked what we needed. We said we needed to purchase applications for residency. She smiled and nicely told us to go to line 24. After waiting in line 24 for 30 minutes the lady at the window sent us to line 21. Another 30 minutes later we were sent to line 22, then on to 19 and on to 20 all to go back to line 24. Now that we we back to line 24, we finally paid 3 Cordobas (about 15 cents) for our residency applications. You are probably wondering the same question as I am...Why didn't they just give us the application the first time we were at Line 24? Well, no idea, but at least we have the applications and are able to get started on the long process that awaits us. This can be a complicated process with lots of documents that are time sensitive and have to have county, state and federal authentications on each document. Please keep this in prayer as we are only allowed in country on 90 day visas until we obtain residency.
