Child-like Faith

Yesterday our dryer had a total "melt down." I heard something very loud and so I went to see what had happened. The dryer had broken down and would not start. I waited for it to cool off and a few hours later tried to figure out what had happened. The boys came around the corner and asked what I was doing, I explained to them that our dryer had broken. The boys immediately laid their hands on the dryer and started to pray, Kaden (5) prays "Dear Jesus, could you please fix our dryer so we don't have to wear wet clothes." Kaleb (4) prays next, "Jesus you need to fix our dryer or send someone to fix it please." Immediately after they finished praying, Kaden reached up and pressed the start button but nothing happened. He looked up at me and said, "It's okay mom, Jesus is going to fix it."

Throughout the rest of the night periodically Kaden would run to the laundry room to see if it worked. Over and over he pressed the start button waiting for it to work. A few hours later it was bedtime and the boys kneeled beside their bed to say their prayers. Kaleb "Thank you for a good day today, but could you still fix the dryer" then Kaden "Thank you for mommy, daddy, Kaleb, KyAnna, sister Krista and thank you for fixing our dryer." I thought to myself, wow he sure is claiming it.

I began to pick up the house and eventually found myself in the laundry room. I began to smile as I thought about how cute the boys were laying hands on and praying for our dryer. I treasured the moment in my heart and thought about the child-like faith that Jesus desires us to have in Mark 10:15. As I walked out of the room, I went back and pressed the start button and what do you know. Not only did it work, but it ran like it was brand new.

Tonight Kaleb prays "Jesus, thank you for fixing our dryer, now can you fix my bear." We'll keep you posted!
